Our story
Andrew Kosenko initially started community college in Northern Virginia for the pursuit of a degree in Homeland Security. He started working for his uncle's high-end remodeling company as it gave him flexibility with his class schedule.
He quickly grew to enjoy the world of residential construction and the day to day variety of tasks, challenges and individuals he interacted with. He changed his career path and transferred to Virginia Tech for a degree in Building Construction in 2018.
A-OK originated as handyman business for Andrew to pay rent and towards schooling, while offering him flexibility as a full time student that most other jobs could not. It allowed him to utilize and grow his hands on skills along with his schooling. He ran it for 3 years in school in Blacksburg, and Charlottesville during summer internships.
Andrew graduated in 2021 and decided to put a hold on A-OK in order to utilize his degree and add to his knowledge base. He spent a year with a highly reputable remodeling contractor as an assistant project manager, and 4 years with a custom home builder as a superintendent. Andrew did some work through A-OK with established clients on the side, however did not advertise or grow the business in that time.
In the Spring of 2026, A-OK was rebranded and relaunched. Andrew is a Licensed and Insured General Contractor with a Class B license, currently working towards getting his Class A within the year.
